Wild’s Color Cauldron
Heidi is an Herb Dyer, Herb Conservationist, Herb Enthusiast
Bio: Heidi worked at Wise Ways Herbals for two years. She is certified in therapeutic herbalism through Blazing Star Herbal School and has studied with Susan Weed. She has been a creative person for a long time. It is something she enjoys. She learned to knit and crotchet from both her grandmothers and always seems to have some type of creative project going. She hadn’t worked with wool yarn, but a few years ago she started working with Patron wool and really fell in love with it. Then last year a friend introduced her to spinning wool. She feel in love with it, and with a month she had her own spinning wheel. She have been a student of the herbs for 15 years and knew that many of them could be used as dye. In fact they are the first dyes. So she combined her passion of the herbs with her crafted side. All of her yarn (expect some Patron wool items) is hand spun and hand dyed by Heidi. Most of the herbs are wildcrafted by Heidi for her dye cauldron. She intended to have some yarn for sale but ended up using the yarn for knitting and crocheting. She uses patterns for most of her creations, but her favorite is free form or making her own patterns. Herbs are an important part of our heritage. They beg to not be forgotten and not to be though of as just weeds.
