Bio: Maria Noël Groves is certified as a clinical herbalist through her study at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine. She also completed Sage Mountain’s Advanced Herbal Program. She is a certified flower essence practitioner via Lichenwood Herbals and a registered professional herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild. Maria has been working with herbs for nearly two decades and has been educated by some of the country’s top herbalists. Her primary focus is education, and she splits her time among seeing clients, teaching, and writing about herbs and health. Maria’s practice melds traditional herbalism and modern science. She uses herbs, food, and lifestyle changes to improve the overall health of her clients. She values an integrative medicine approach and enjoys working in conjunction with her clients’ other practitioners to help them achieve optimal wellness. Sliding scale rates, payment plans, and barter arrangements are available upon request. Classes & Speaking Experience: Maria is available to speak on a wide variety of topics including herb walks and herbs for the immune system, cardiovascular health, diabetes, energy, and relaxation. She teaches several hands-on and demo-based remedy making classes for adults and children including the Art of Tea, the Herbal Kitchen (Culinary), the Kitchen Apothecary (Medicinal), and DIY Natural Bodycare. Maria offers an 9-week introductory Home Herbalist Series for people wishing to gain more confidence using herbs in their homes, which can be followed up with the 9-class Beyond the Home Herbalist Series. Maria teaches primarily at Wintergreen Botanicals, as well as Nashua Community College, NH Audubon Centers, Canterbury Shaker Village, Concord Food Co-op, and Concord Hospital. She has taught for several Montessori preschools, senior centers, local garden clubs, and more.
